Ai in Saudi Arabia and how the government is helping the industry

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is quickly becoming a key focus area for the government of Saudi Arabia. The kingdom has identified AI as a major driver for economic growth and is making significant investments to develop its AI capabilities.

The Saudi Arabian government has established several initiatives to promote the development and adoption of AI in the country. One of the most notable initiatives is the National Center for AI (NCAI), which was established in 2017. The NCAI is tasked with promoting research and development in AI and providing support for businesses and organisations looking to implement AI solutions.

In addition to the NCAI, the Saudi government has also announced plans to establish a $1 billion investment fund to support startups working on AI and other emerging technologies. The fund will be managed by the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA) and will provide funding for companies in a wide range of sectors, including healthcare, transportation, and manufacturing.

The Saudi government is also offering incentives to foreign nationals looking to invest in AI and other emerging technologies in the country. These incentives include tax breaks, streamlined visa processes, and access to government funding.

To attract top talent in the field of AI, the Saudi government has also announced plans to establish a specialized visa for AI experts and professionals. The visa will provide foreign nationals with long-term residency and will include benefits such as access to healthcare and education for their families.

In summary, Saudi Arabia is making significant investments and providing incentives to promote the development and adoption of AI in the country. These efforts are aimed at driving economic growth and making Saudi Arabia a leading player in the field of AI.
